Responsibilities

Alta Material Handling is currently searching for a sales professional to manage a targeted area within the Long Island Market.  This position will entail many varied tasks, with the goal of expanding our Lighting business through project acquisition and existing customer cross sell.  This position will require, self motivation, flexibility and an eagerness to learn about the many facets of our business.   The proper candidate is one who takes pride in his or her work and would be excited about the opportunity to be in charge of growing and managing a sales territory.  This position is both strategic and tactical.  We are looking for this individual to be aggressive with regard to sales and committed to exceeding the customers expectations with regard to a materials handling vendor. 

 

Scope and Responsibilities:  In reporting directly to both the Division Manager he or she will be responsible for the growth of the assigned territory.  Success will be based on total sales volume, referrals & new customer projects.  As with any new position the exact mix of the above criteria will largely be defined by the individual in the position.  In addition to salary commissions can be earned in the following areas:

  • LED Industrial sales
  • LED Commercial sales
  • Exterior Lighting Projects
  • Allied Product Sales

Qualifications

Education:

  • BA or BS Required, or Market experience 

Skill Set and Experience:

  • Experience or familiarity with Equipment Sales
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
