Responsibilities

Our Material Handling Group is currently looking for a full time Robotics Sales and Business Development Manager. We are seeking a qualified individual to lead our Corporate Sales & Business Development efforts in Mobile Robotics. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Optimize Alta Material Handling (AMH) GTM (Go-to-market) strategy for robotic solutions.
  • Build out various financing packages for robotic solutions: Purchase, ROI, Lease, TCO, or RAAS (Robots as a Service).
  • Partner with marketing team to drive purpose-built content to the GTM execution plan.
  • Build out AMH complete portfolio of high-quality robotic solutions.
  • Managing the AMH/vendor relationships.
  • Identify and reach out to potential customers and system integrators who can benefit from deploying the Alta Robotic solutions.
  • Comfortable with prospecting using multiple methods including cold calling and digital means.
  • Present the benefits of using Alta Robotic solutions.
  • Visit customer facilities to understand their application and propose the appropriate solution.
  • Work directly with the internal application engineering team and/or collaborate with outside system integrators for customers requiring a full turnkey solution.
  • Collaborate with customer service and other resources to support customers before and after-sales.
  • Be integral stakeholder in the entire sales process from proposal, purchase, logistics, installation, and training with support from the robotic application engineering.
  • Leading our Trade show efforts
  • Work closely with the outside Sales team to identify and build strategic pipelines across our entire APR. 
  • Oversee lead engagement – new and cold to secure industry relationships.  
  • Obtain competitive information to develop sales leads. Implement findings from industry research to develop content and contacts. 
  • Partner with our marketing team to create customer-focused content. 
  • Create proposals and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in selling through a dealer network and direct to the customer.
  • Experience in selling disruptive technologies.
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • BS degree in engineering, preferably but not limited to Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, and Computer Science, with 2+ years of automation and/or robotics experience preferred
  • 2+ years of technical sales experience directly to end-user/integrators preferred, but we also welcome applications engineers who want to move into sales positions
  • Experience with the customer from automotive, electronics, healthcare, general industry, warehouse, logistics and healthcare industries preferred
  • Willingness to travel within our corporate footprint whenever there is an opportunity in the territory
  • We are open to qualified candidates living in the following regions:

    • Michigan, Illinois, Ontario
  • Computer programs - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Language Skills - High: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. High School diploma, or GED equivalent
  • Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and automobile insurance

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand, talk/hear, walk, use hands, reach with hands; occasionally will sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision: No special vision requirements.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift 11 to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 26 to 100 plus pounds
