Responsibilities

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a talented individual for our Customer and Product Support Regional Sales Manager position. The main goal is to drive growth in new customer parts and service sales while maintaining gross profit objectives, as well as recruit, train and manage territory target objectives. The responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Train and onboard regional C&PS reps.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the C&PS reps.
  • Prepares action plans by individuals and by team for effective search of sales leads, prospects and opportunities.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to gain new business.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one review with all C&PS reps to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of the C&PS reps while guiding activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing for your region while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Utilizes CRM to understand and analyze all pricing, sales, and activities entered in CRM by C&PS reps.
  • Assists C&PS reps. as needed with preparation of proposal, presentations, and RFP (request for proposals) responses.
  • Ensures that all C&PS reps. meet or exceed all activity standards for cold calling, appointments, presentations, proposals, opportunities and won deals.
  • Sets examples for C&PS reps. in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and customer support skills, and work habits.
  • Conducts regular coaching and counseling with C&PS reps. to build motivation and selling skills
  • Maintains contact with customers in the region to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Proactively uses and reinforces with the C&PS reps. the proactive use of eCRM as our CRM vehicle to be utilized for all customer activities.
  • Adheres to our guiding principles.
  • Makes safety and the communication of safety a priority.
  • Help initiate and coordinate sales specials/incentives
  • Complete commissions monthly for regional C&PS representatives

Qualifications

  • Team oriented sales professional
  • 5 years of Field sales territory experience (preferred)
  • Management experience, preferably managing field sales reps.
  • Sales training/College experience in the area of sales, communication or business.
  • Knowledge of forklifts and/ or construction equipment is a plus; however, candidates with comparable industry experience, a strong sales acumen and record of achievement will also be considered
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and various software applications
  • Self-motivated
  • Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and automobile insurance.
  • Computer programs - CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,& the Internet
  • Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will sit; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell
  • Vision: No special vision requirements
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift 26 to 50 pounds
  • Work Environment: Frequently will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
