Alta Material Handling is currently searching for a sales professional to manage a targeted area within the Long Island Market.  This position will entail many varied tasks, with the goal of expanding our Lighting business through project acquisition and existing customer cross sell.  This position will require, self motivation, flexibility and an eagerness to learn about the many facets of our business.   The proper candidate is one who takes pride in his or her work and would be excited about the opportunity to be in charge of growing and managing a sales territory.  This position is both strategic and tactical.  We are looking for this individual to be aggressive with regard to sales and committed to exceeding the customers expectations with regard to a materials handling vendor.    Scope and Responsibilities:  In reporting directly to both the Division Manager he or she will be responsible for the growth of the assigned territory.  Success will be based on total sales volume, referrals & new customer projects.  As with any new position the exact mix of the above criteria will largely be defined by the individual in the position.  In addition to salary commissions can be earned in the following areas: - LED Industrial sales - LED Commercial sales - Exterior Lighting Projects - Allied Product Sales

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time heavy equipment field service diesel technician / mechanic for the Kalamazoo Michigan area based out of our Byron Center, Michigan branch. This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 324.   A Field Technician 2 must be familiar with and able to diagnose and repair any systems problem that occurs for the majority (greater than 50%) of equipment the Company sells. A Field Technician 2 is qualified to successfully, efficiently, and accurately perform the cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, removal, installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing and the disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, reconditioning, ordering the correct parts, measuring, adjusting, diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting and equipment failure analysis of their assigned Service department or specialized area, with minimal technical assistance. Also, a Field Technician 2 may be asked to perform minor welding, fabricating, and machining repairs. A Field Technician 2 must become Volvo Level 3 certified. A Field Technician 2 will be required to maintain a Chauffeurs or CDL B endorsement on their driver license and a clean driving record in accordance with the Company’s insurance carrier’s requirements. Our Industrial Equipment Group is currently looking for a full time Forklift Field Service Technician / Mechanic for our Kentwood, MI branch. This position is first shift, M - F, and hourly (no flat rate!). Tire technicians will provide professional installation of industrial tires on material handling equipment.
